Privacy Policy
Texas Lot Lines and Maps — Effective May 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Texas Lot Lines and Maps iOS app
(“the App”) handles your information. The App is published by Cameron Law
(“we”, “us”) and is designed to help you view Texas property parcel
boundaries, ownership information, and related map data.
We have built the App to collect as little personal information as possible.
The App does not require an account, an email address, or a name to use.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Address searches. Text you type into the search bar is processed
on your device by Apple’s MapKit to suggest matching addresses. Search text is
not sent to our servers and is not stored after your session ends.
- Saved parcels, notes, custom boundaries, surveys, and imported GIS layers.
Any content you save, draw, import, or annotate inside the App is stored
only on your device. It is never transmitted to us.
Information collected automatically
- Device identifier. The first time you launch the App, it generates a
random unique identifier (a UUID) and stores it on your device. This identifier is
sent to our servers when verifying your subscription so we can associate your
purchase with your device. The identifier is not linked to your name, email, or
Apple ID and cannot be used to identify you personally.
- Location (only with your permission). If you grant location access,
the App uses your location to center the map, find nearby parcels, and anchor lot
lines in AR mode. Your location is sent to our servers only in the form of
map coordinates or a map bounding box at the moment you actively look up parcel
data. Coordinates are used to return parcel results and are not stored as a
history of where you have been.
- IP address. Our servers temporarily see your IP address (as part of
any normal HTTP request) for the limited purpose of rate-limiting abusive traffic.
We do not store IP addresses in our database.
- Subscription transaction information. When you make a purchase,
Apple provides the App with a signed receipt describing the product you bought,
the transaction ID, the expiration date (for subscriptions), and the sandbox or
production environment. We send this receipt to our servers so we can verify your
purchase, grant you access, and respond to renewals or refunds.
2. How We Use Information
- To verify your in-app purchase and grant you access to subscriber features.
- To respond to subscription renewals, cancellations, refunds, and revocations
reported to us by Apple.
- To return parcel and map information for the coordinates you query.
- To protect the service from abuse (rate limiting).
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your information.
We do not perform behavioral profiling.
3. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third parties to function:
- Apple (StoreKit and the App Store). Subscription purchases, renewals,
and refunds are handled entirely by Apple. Apple shares signed transaction
receipts with the App and sends our servers notifications when your subscription
status changes. Apple’s handling of your information is governed by
Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Apple MapKit. Map rendering, address autocomplete, and reverse
geocoding are performed by Apple’s MapKit framework on your device. Apple
may receive query data per its Privacy Policy.
- Google Street View (optional). When you ask the App whether Street
View imagery is available at a location, our servers query Google’s Street
View Image API with the coordinates of that location. The query is made by our
servers, not by your device. Google’s use of this data is governed by
Google’s Privacy Policy.
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or
crash-reporting services in the App.
4. Data Retention
- On your device. Saved parcels, notes, custom boundaries, surveys,
imported GIS layers, and cached map data remain on your device until you delete
them in the App or uninstall the App.
- Subscription records. We retain a record of each subscription
transaction (product, dates, transaction ID, device UUID, environment) for as
long as required to provide the service and to comply with Apple’s and our
tax and legal obligations.
- Access tokens. Short-lived access tokens issued by our servers
expire automatically (typically within 12 hours) and are deleted from our
database when expired.
- Apple notification log. Identifiers for subscription notifications
received from Apple are stored for 30 days to prevent duplicate processing,
then deleted.
- Server caches. Parcel and Street View responses are cached
temporarily on our servers (minutes to days) to reduce load. Caches do not
contain personal information.
5. Your Choices and Rights
- Location. You can grant, deny, or revoke location access at any
time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. The
App will continue to work without location access, with reduced functionality
(no automatic centering, no AR mode).
- Camera. AR mode requires camera access. You can deny or revoke it in
iOS Settings. Other App features work without it.
- Subscriptions. You can view, change, or cancel your subscription at
any time in iOS Settings → Your Apple ID → Subscriptions, or by tapping
“Manage in Apple” inside the App.
- Local data. You can delete saved parcels, custom boundaries, and
imported layers from inside the App. Uninstalling the App removes all
on-device data.
- Server-side data. Because we do not store names, emails, or other
directly-identifying information, we cannot search server-side records by
identity. If you wish us to delete the subscription record tied to your device
(subject to legal and Apple-mandated retention requirements), contact us
using the email below with your device UUID, which is shown in the App’s
Settings screen, or with your Apple transaction ID.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA), European users (GDPR), and similar
laws. You have the right to request access to, correction of, or
deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of any sale
or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal
information. To exercise other rights, contact us using the email below.
6. Children
The App is intended for property owners, real-estate professionals, and adult
users researching Texas parcel data. It is not directed at children under 13. We
do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has
provided information through the App, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
Subscription receipts are signed by Apple and verified by our servers using
Apple’s public certificates. Access tokens are stored in our database only
as a cryptographic hash. Communication between the App and our servers uses
HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we use industry-standard practices
appropriate for the data the App handles.
8. International Users
The App and our servers are operated from the United States. If you use the
App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and
processed in the United States.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective”
date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material
changes will be reflected by updating that date and, where appropriate, by
notice inside the App.
